ICA

Instructions for Continued Airworthiness

The set of documents an aircraft manufacturer or STC holder provides to the operator that defines the inspections, maintenance actions, and intervals needed to keep the aircraft airworthy through its service life. EWIS items belong in the ICA.

Technical detail

Where 25.1707 compliance depends on a physical feature — a clamp marker, a protective shroud, a bonding strap — the inspection of that feature must be carried in the ICA. Compliance is not complete until the feature is in a maintenance program that will catch its degradation or removal.

ICA items derived from §25.1707 work feed the Enhanced Zonal Analysis Program (EZAP), which is the maintenance-program structure for zone-by-zone EWIS inspection.

When it matters

Every §25.1707 compliance argument that relies on a physical maintenance-visible feature must close the loop in the ICA.
